It’s official. Microsoft has finally announced its less powerful Xbox console. Called Xbox Series S, Microsoft says it offers “next-gen performance in the smallest Xbox ever”.
Microsoft Xbox Series S Console costs $299.
From the image, Xbox Series S is clearly less chunky that the Series X. It also lacks a disc drive, making it a direct competitor to Sony’s PS5 Digital Edition console.
For now, that’s all there is to know about the Series S. Expect more details soon.
Reports of an upcoming cheaper Xbox Series S have emerged in the past months under the codename Lockhart. Up until recently, there were scanty details and no one knew what it would look like.
But just hours after it was leaked, Microsoft had decided to announce it in a tweet.
Microsoft will launch its next-gen Xbox consoles in the last quarter of the year – same as Sony with the PS5.
Reports suggest the powerful Xbox Series X will be selling at $499.
