Vivo has announced it will be bringing their new Y20 to the Kenyan market from 8th October. The device will join the rest of the Vivo Y-series already available in the market. Vivo says the Y-series largest the youth, and falls in the affordable range of smartphones.
The new Y20 features a 6.51 inch IPS LCD HD+ display. The aspect ratio is 20:9 giving it that tall feel. There’s a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, but unlike with the Vivo Y30 – which is a pretty good deal – here there’s no USB type-C. Only Micro-USB.
There’s a triple lens setup at the back with a main 13MP sensor. At the front, the selfie camera is an 8MP shooter. The device runs Android 10 with Vivo’s own FunTouch 10.5 UI. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 460 chip with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage.
There’s a fingerprint scanner to the side which the company says will unlock your phone in 0.22 seconds.
Vivo says the upcoming Y20 smartphone is going to be a complete mix of trendy technologies and a stylish look. It is highly anticipated for its dynamic camera features and long-lasting battery life and sleek design.
We have not received any information on price. We estimate, however, somewhere around KES. 15,000 based on the pricing of the Y30. But this is only speculation. Let’s wait for the launch next month.
